Thank you for stopping by our website.  BURNING EXPRESSIONS is a woman-owned candle company for the discriminating candle lover specializing in Designer Gel Candle Art!

I don’t know about you, but I never liked buying wax candles.  It seemed like the more you burn them, the uglier and more mis-shaped they got!  And then I encountered gel candles while at a local mall searching for just the right birthday gift for a co-worker, and I was hooked!  They were gorgeous and I knew the birthday girl would just love it (she is a BIG football fan, so I bought her a football-themed candle.)  Then after a while, I just knew I had to create them for myself….so I could have them just the way I wanted them.   So Sandy, if you’re out there reading this, thanks for this journey!

Our candles are all hand-crafted in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  Only the highest quality gel, Penreco, is used.  Real roses, orchids, fruit, and leaves are just some of the beautiful designs in our candles.  Check out how we can create a candle with real flowers in it!

We carry 2 basic types of candles; reusable and non-reusable. In case you missed our Homepage, let me explain how you can enjoy them for many years. Reusable candles contain a glass cup in the center of the candle which protects the artwork (embeds) from ever burning.  Once the gel in this center cup is gone, you replace it with a tea-light candle.  You can burn them over and over again this way, and the candles never lose their beauty!  Non-refillable candles do not have the glass refillable cup in the center, only burn the existing gel, and are generally less expensive.

For those of you who have never experienced gel candles, they will last 3 to 4 times longer than ordinary wax candles and give a total illumination that you can’t get with an ordinary candle. And you don’t normally see real roses or orchids in wax candles, either!  They are NO more dangerous than any candle as long as you follow safety guidelines, as you should with ANY type of candle.
